Here were the agenda items discussed by the board:
Galvin Memorial Picture Project - With the reconstruction of the Galvin School scheduled for this summer, the board has been tracking a project that will remove, restore and improve the veteran memorial pictures that hang in the auditorium. The board is working with an Eagle Scout and community members to complete this project.
Boston Wounded Vet Run - VSO Andrew Biggio, founder of the Boston Wounded Vet Run enlisted the help of the members to place posters around the town advertising the run's movement through Wakefield on April 27, 2014. For more information visit the BWVR Web site. The idea is for Wakefield residents to line the streets with flags in honor of the ride's wounded veteran honorees.
Memorial Day 2014 - Board members and the American Legion Post 60 are finalizing details for the parade. Discussions included the keynote speaker, parade route and the annual flagging of the town's cemeteries. While a formal schedule will be posted soon...here is a sneak peak at the dates.

Monday, May 26th (Memorial Day)
Veterans, their families and supporters can help honor Memorial Day by attending a special ceremony at the West Side Social Club at 10 a.m. The parade will commence down Main Street from the Galvin Middle School at 1 p.m. following by a ceremony on the Veterans Memorial Common.
